Die Flintstones Stream The Flintstones Full Episode Guide Video

Home alone 1 1990 in English

The Flintstones are your traditional American family that happens to live in the Stone Age. The Flintstones live in the town of Bedrock on Cobblestone Way next to their best friends the Rubbles.

The head of the Flintstone household is Fred Flintstone. Fred Flintstone generally wears an orange leopard shirt with a black tie and can be bit of a hothead.

Fred works at the Slate construction site as a dinosaur operator, what we now call a crane operator. Fred is married to Wilma Slaghopple, which he met one summer while working at the Honeyrock Hotel as a bellhop.

Wilma is a calm headed redhead that is a stay at home mom, taking care of the Flintstone one-story cave house and their infant daughter, Pebbles.

The Flintstones have a pet dinosaur called Dino that is very smart, loyal and is very protective of Pebbles. The Flintstones lives next door to their best friends the Rubbles.

Barney Rubble has been best friends with Fred they were infants. Barney works hard but unlike Fred is not steadily employed, working at various jobs including repossession.

Barney is also an inventor, inventing a super fuel for cars and a helicopter that looks like a flying eggbeater. Barney is devoted husband and father who is madly in love with his wife Betty that he also met at the Honeyrock Hotel working as a bellhop, the same summer that Fred met Wilma.

Betty and Barney adopted a son called Bam-Bam, which is the strongest baby in the world. The Rubbles have a pet named Hoppy, which is a hopperue from Down Under.

Like Dino, Hoppy is the perfect pet for the Rubbles and is referred to by Wilma as a built in babysitter for Bam-Bam that can come, pick him up, and place him in her pouch to go home after a nice visit with Pebbles.

The Flintstones and the Rubbles, being best friends, have had several adventures together. Like the time Fred and Barney helped Fred's rich Uncle Tex catch cattle rustlers on is ranch in Texasrock or the time they went hunting a Snorkasaurus, not to mention the time Fred bought a circus.

With adventures like those who wouldn't want to meet the Flintstones and the Rubbles and join in on the fun. The Flintstones is a series that is currently running and has 11 seasons episodes.

The series first aired on September 30, The Flintstones is available for streaming on the website, both individual episodes and full seasons.

Living in prehistoric times has its drawbacks, but the Flintstones and their neighbors survive in style. Will Ferrell has put his name on a lot of projects in the past, like "Anchorman," "Talladega Nights" and even "Funny or Die.

If you're wondering, the answer is no, he won't be playing Fred. Everyone once in a while, you read one of those news stories that makes you go "Wha?

That's right, the animated sitcom that started it all back in the 's is going to return to TV. In a Playboy interview, Gleason said Alan Reed had done voice-overs for Gleason in his early movies and that he had considered suing Hanna-Barbera for copying The Honeymooners but decided to let it pass.

But they also told him, 'Do you want to be known as the guy who yanked Fred Flintstone off the air? The guy who took away a show so many kids love and so many parents love, too?

The opening and closing credits theme during the first two seasons was called "Rise and Shine", a lively instrumental underscore accompanying Fred on his drive home from work.

This version was recorded with a piece big band , and the Randy Van Horne Singers. The musical underscores were credited to Hoyt Curtin for the show's first five seasons; Ted Nichols took over in for the final season.

Although these programs were successful, they did not have the same wide audience appeal as their previous theatrical cartoon series Tom and Jerry , which entertained both children and the adults who accompanied them.

However, since children did not need their parents' supervision to watch television, Hanna-Barbera's output became labeled "kids only". Barbera and Hanna wanted to recapture the adult audience with an animated situation comedy.

Barbera and Hanna experimented with hillbillies a hillbilly theme was later incorporated into two Flintstones episodes, "The Bedrock Hillbillies" and "The Hatrocks and the Gruesomes" , Romans Hanna-Barbera eventually created The Roman Holidays , pilgrims, and Indians as the settings for the two families before deciding on the Stone Age.

According to Barbera, they settled on that because "you could take anything that was current, and convert it to stone-age". A brief demonstration film was also created to sell the idea of a "modern stone-age family" to sponsors and the network.

The show imitated and spoofed The Honeymooners , although the early voice characterization for Barney was that of Lou Costello.

The characters, I thought, were terrific. Now, that influenced greatly what we did with The Flintstones The Honeymooners was there, and we used that as a kind of basis for the concept.

But if people want to compare The Flintstones to The Honeymooners , then great. It's a total compliment. The Honeymooners was one of the greatest shows ever written.

The cartoon concerned the rowdy antics of a bank robber in stone-age Dallas. Many of the sight gags from that series predated similar situations used by Hanna-Barbera in the Flintstones series by many years.

Many students of American animation point to this cartoon as a progenitive seed of the Flintstones. The concept was also predated by the Stone Age Cartoons series of 12 animated cartoons released from January to September by Fleischer Studios.

These cartoons show stone-age people doing modern things with primitive means. One example is Granite Hotel including characters such as a newsboy, telephone operator, hotel clerk, and a spoof of Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy.

Here we were with a brand new thing that had never been done before, an animated prime-time television show. So we developed two storyboards; one was they had a helicopter of some kind and they went to the opera or whatever, and the other was Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble fighting over a swimming pool.

So I go back to New York with a portfolio and two half-hour boards. And no-one would even believe that you'd dare to suggest a thing like that, I mean they looked at you and they'd think you're crazy.

But slowly the word got out, and I used the presentation which took almost an hour and a half. I would go to the other two boards and tell them what they did, and do all the voices and the sounds and so-on, and I'd stagger back to the hotel and I'd collapse.

The phone would ring like crazy, like one time I did Bristol-Myers , the whole company was there. When I got through I'd go back to the hotel the phone would ring and say "the president wasn't at that meeting, could you come back and do it for him.

I got to know where the laughs were, and where to hit it, nothing; dead, dead, dead. So one of the people at Screen Gems said "This is the worst, those guys What it was, was that there were two agencies there, and neither one was going to let the other one know they were enjoying it.

But I pitched it for eight straight weeks and nobody bought it. So after sitting in New York just wearing out, you know really wearing out. Pitch, pitch, pitch, sometimes five a day.

So finally on the very last day I pitched it to ABC, which was a young daring network willing to try new things, and bought the show in 15 minutes.

Thank goodness, because this was the very last day and if they hadn't bought it, I would have taken everything down, put it in the archives and never pitched it again.

Sometimes I wake up in a cold-sweat thinking this is how close you get to disaster. When the series went into production, the working title The Flagstones was changed, possibly to avoid confusion with the Flagstons, characters in the comic strip Hi and Lois.

After spending a brief period in development as The Gladstones GLadstone being a Los Angeles telephone exchange at the time , [25] Hanna-Barbera settled upon The Flintstones , and the idea of the Flintstones having a child from the start was discarded, with Fred and Wilma starting out as a childless couple.

Despite the animation and fantasy setting, the series was initially aimed at adult audiences, which was reflected in the comedy writing, which, as noted, resembled the average primetime sitcoms of the era, with the usual family issues resolved with a laugh at the end of each episode, as well as the inclusion of a laugh track.

Hanna and Barbera hired many writers from the world of live-action, including two of Jackie Gleason's writers, Herbert Finn and Sydney Zelinka, as well as relative newcomer Joanna Lee while still using traditional animation story men such as Warren Foster and Michael Maltese.

The Flintstones premiered on September 30, , at pm Eastern time, and quickly became a hit. It was the first American animated show to depict two people of the opposite sex Fred and Wilma; Barney and Betty sleeping together in one bed, although Fred and Wilma are sometimes depicted as sleeping in separate beds.

For comparison, the first live-action depiction of this in American TV history was in television's first-ever sitcom: 's Mary Kay and Johnny.

The first two seasons were co-sponsored by Winston cigarettes and the characters appeared in several black-and-white television commercials for Winston [28] dictated by the custom, at that time, that the star s of a TV series often "pitched" their sponsor's product in an "integrated commercial" at the end of the episode.

During the third season, Hanna and Barbera decided that Fred and Wilma should have a baby. As Fred attempts to enter a cave where the workers are seeking refuge, they see through his disguise and attempt to hang him.

Barney is almost hanged as well after he admits his part. Fred and Barney reconcile, but before they can be hanged, Wilma and Betty arrive with the Dictabird, who tells them the true story.

Cliff kidnaps Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm and demands the Dictabird in exchange for the children's safe return. Though they hand him the Dictabird, Cliff activates the machine to stall them.

Barney rescues the children while Fred destroys the machine. The Dictabird escapes from Cliff and lures him back to the quarry, where Miss Stone knocks him out, having had a change of heart after learning that Cliff was planning to betray her.

The police, Wilma, Betty, and Mr. Slate arrive and Cliff attempts to flee, but he is petrified by a substance falling from the machine.

With the Dictabird's help, all charges against Fred are dropped, while Miss Stone is arrested as Cliff's accomplice, though Fred is confident she will be granted leniency for helping them stop Cliff.

Impressed with the substance that Fred inadvertently created by destroying the machine, Mr. Slate dubs the substance "concrete" in honor of his daughter Concretia and makes plans to produce it with Fred as the president of its division, thus ending the Stone Age.

Having realized the negatives of his wealth and status as the new CEO, Fred declines and asks that the workers be rehired and given the job benefits he initially set out to achieve, which is granted.

As the Flintstones and Rubbles have finally made amends, Fred and Barney get into a humorous quarrel when Fred once again asks Barney for a small amount of money for breakfast.

De Souza's script was eventually rejected and Mitch Markowitz was hired to write a script. Said to be a cross of The Grapes of Wrath , Markowitz commented that "I don't even remember it that well, but Fred and Barney leave their town during a terrible depression and go across the country, or whatever that damn prehistoric thing is, looking for jobs.

They wind up in trailer parks trying to keep their families together. They exhibit moments of heroism and poignancy". Markowitz's version was apparently too sentimental for director Donner, who disliked it.

Eventually, the rights were bought by Amblin Entertainment and Steven Spielberg who, after working with Goodman on Always , was determined to cast him in the lead as Fred.

Goodman felt he was "sandbagged" into the role of Flintstone years earlier at the table read for the film, Always , when Steven Spielberg announced, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to say something before we start: I've found my Fred Flintstone.

If Goodman had turned the role down, the film would not have been made. Elizabeth Perkins won the role. Danny DeVito was the original first choice for Barney, but he turned down the role as he felt he was too gruff to do the character properly and reportedly suggested Rick Moranis for the role.

DeVito was also considered for Fred Flintstone. Although Janine Turner was considered, Rosie O'Donnell won the role of Betty Rubble with her impersonation of the cartoon character's signature giggle.

Both Tracey Ullman and Daphne Zuniga were also considered for the role. Sharon Stone was to play Miss Stone, but turned it down because of scheduling conflicts.

The role was also offered to Nicole Kidman. Anna Nicole Smith was also considered. They both mentioned that its main story lines embezzlement, mother-in-law problems, office politics and extra-marital affairs were storylines for adult films, and ones that children would not be able to understand.

However, many critics praised the film's look, faithfulness to the cartoon, Rosanna Norton's costume designs and Goodman's performance. In a interview, Joseph Barbera , co-founder of Hanna-Barbera Productions and co-creator of The Flintstones , stated that, although he was impressed by the film's visuals, he felt the story "wasn't as good as I could have made it.

The film also won Worst Screenplay and was nominated for two others: Taylor as Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress the second performance in the film nominated for this award and for the film as Worst Remake or Sequel.
